When people ask you why you collect so many movies, think of the example offered in this article. People eat their favorite foods more than once, so why shouldn't you watch your favorite movies more than once?
For people who collect movies and watch them over and over again, sometimes they face questions such as: Haven't you seen that movie before? Why are you watching that movie again? You've seen it at least a hundred times For those of us who watch the same movies again and again, it's hard to explain to people who don't understand why we do it. For movie collectors, a movie is not just a movie, but it's an experience. Someone with a true passion for movies understands this concept, and chances are they have a movie collection that is just as extensive as other movie aficionados. Honestly, why is it so hard for people to understand the reason for watching a movie over and over again? If you like something, you want to experience it more than once, right? It's really no different than someone eating a favorite dish more than once. They enjoy it, so they will cook it or they will order it when they go back to the restaurant that specializes in it. We don't say to them, why are you having that for dinner? You have had it before and you know what it tastes like. It's really not that different than watching a movie over and over again. One thing that movie collectors notice when they are watching a movie that they have seen before is that sometimes they will notice something that they don't remember. If it's a murder mystery, perhaps they pick up a clue as to who did it. This doesn't happen every time you watch a movie, but it happens often enough that it warrants movie collectors taking a second look. When a movie collector purchases a movie that they have gone to see in the movie theater, often they are questioned. But something that people should remember is that when you are watching a movie in a theater it's easy to miss things because your mind is being bombarded with images and music, and there is so much to take in that it's easy to miss something importnat. But when you buy the DVD and take it home, you have the to pause and rewind the movie if you think you have missed something and you can take your time looking for things that are hard to see on the big screen. Another advantage that movie collectors have with watching a DVD at home is, of course, the deleted scenes that are very often included with the movie. These scenes can include something important, or they may simply be something that adds an interesting angle to the story. But whatever else they offer, they are another reason that movie collectors spend money on DVDs that they have already seen. Something else that DVDs sometimes offer are commentaries from directors and director cut versions of movies. Very often these movies are unrated and include scenes and content that may be more dramatic and disturbing to viewers. That is why they were cut from the version that was released to theaters. If you want to start collecting movies and some of the movies that you want may no longer be available in stores, the Internet has a lot of resources that you can use to expand your movie collection. Auction sites are a good place to start to find good prices on used DVD's. Now that technology has advanced, there are a lot of people who are selling their DVDs in order to make room for the new Blu-Ray discs that are now becoming so popular. There are also of plenty physical stores that buy and sell used DVD's. You would be surprised at the kinds of deals that you can find, and you can go in there thinking that you won't find anything you want and come out with an armload of great movies to add to your collection.
